QR5 quietrevolution TURBINE

Microstrain are the sole distributor for the quietrevolution turbine in Ireland. This attractive Vertical Axis turbine has many commercial applications. It has a permanent magnetic generator (PMG). The complete system must be connected to the grid in three phase format (a single-phase version is currently under development). It can be installed stand-alone or in series. It has a raft of safety features including online monitoring, vibration detection and dual braking system. The vertical axis turbine has some advantages over a horizontal turbine in terms of performance in turbulent sites and building mounted applications (due to reduced vibration, lower noise and less shadow flicker). Power production by this turbine can be tracked by GPRS and/or ethernet making this attractive for educational applications.
